Frank Guo

Technical lead & project delivery

More than twenty years across hardware and software design, with a strong academic grounding, and experience leading large international engineering collaborations. At addaScan Frank defines the inspection requirement with the customer, reviews each station design and signs off the factory acceptance test. He is also the technical reviewer of the application, industry and guide pages on this website.

Gary Mumford

Software, data & system architecture

More than thirty years in electronics and software design, specialising in system architecture, database design, data security and cloud services. At addaScan Gary is responsible for what happens to inspection results after the decision: how images, batch records and reject reasons are stored, secured and handed to MES, ERP or reporting systems, so a station leaves a traceable record.

Alice Lee

Procurement & logistics

More than eleven years running complex global supply-chain operations, with strategic supplier partnerships, quality-assurance protocols and responsible procurement. At addaScan Alice sources the cameras, lenses, lighting and vision controllers for each station, checks incoming hardware, manages import and delivery, and keeps lead times for recommended spare parts visible.

Mosa Lebombo

Automation, integration & commissioning

Qualified Millwright (trade test), N Diploma in Electrical Engineering and certified Siemens programmer, with more than ten years in heavy industrial automation. Mosa has commissioned and modernised ceramic-tile factories, working with Sacmi and Nuova Era lines, Omron and Siemens PLCs and SCADA, and worked as an instrumentation technician and integrator on a gold-mine start-up. At addaScan he leads the PLC and reject integration, installation and site acceptance: the part where a station has to work on a real South African line.

Programme delivery & governance

Qualified in law and in project and programme management, with more than fifteen years in infrastructure finance and programme delivery across local government and mining. At addaScan Thomas supports larger inspection programmes where procurement documents, contracts and approval steps have to be in place before anything is built or installed.

We prove the defect is visible on your own parts before we specify hardware or quote.

Limits agreed up front

False rejects, missed defects and how they are measured are written into the proposal.

Part of the line

Optics, mounting, PLC signals and the reject are designed together with your line.

Documented handover

Recipes, backups, documentation and training, so the station stays useful after we leave.

Boxed cameras. We do not sell cameras without checking the application.
Quotes without evidence. We do not quote a station before the defect has been shown to be visible.
Promises of perfection. We do not promise zero missed defects; every threshold is a trade-off agreed with you.
Checks a camera cannot do. Internal defects, leak tightness and adhesive strength need other methods.

addaScan, a brand of addanode. The same team takes a project from the sample test through design, installation and handover, and is the contact for support afterwards under the agreed support plan.

How is addaScan related to addanode and CISH?

addaScan is an addanode brand. addanode itself works on industrial IoT; its sister brand CISH delivers complete production lines. addaScan focuses only on machine vision inspection.

Where do you work?

We are based in Johannesburg and work with production sites in South Africa. Projects outside South Africa are confirmed case by case.

Who works on an addaScan project?

An addanode team: Frank Guo leads delivery and acceptance, Mosa Lebombo leads PLC and reject integration and commissioning, Gary Mumford the inspection data and system integration, Alice Lee the hardware sourcing and logistics, and Thomas Tau the programme and contract side of larger projects.
