Stator and rotor matching before motor assembly
Motor assembly verification must check that the stator and rotor are an allowed pair. Block the pair rather than pass each separately.
Machined part mix-up inspection compares visible features or a readable part mark with the variant expected by the work order. It can distinguish left and right parts, different hole patterns or visible end features before assembly or packing. The inspection needs controlled presentation and an approved variant master. Parts that are visually identical but differ in alloy, heat treatment or an internal feature require another identity or test method.
A batch label identifies the container, not every component inside it. After rework, manual loading or a variant change, a wrong part can enter the correct tray. Decide where identity becomes uncertain and inspect at that transfer. A feature check and a DPM read answer different questions: visible shape confirms what can be seen, while the code supplies an identifier that must be checked against trusted production data. Conflicting evidence should produce a hold, not an automatic substitution.
This is an engineering scope for sample assessment, not a report of a completed customer installation. The sources below support measurement, imaging or test-method principles; station performance must be established on your products.
| What the line reports | What a station checks | Where it stops |
|---|---|---|
| Left and right parts are mixed | Compare distinguishing geometry in a defined orientation | Mirror-image views require controlled loading and an explicit rule. |
| Similar housings share the same outline | Check variant-specific holes, slots or end features | A feature hidden by the fixture cannot distinguish the variant. |
| The tray label is right but the part is wrong | Associate each located part result with its tray position or cycle | A container code alone does not prove each part identity. |
| The shape passes but the code does not match | Compare the decoded identifier and expected work order | Do not overwrite the work order from whatever code was read. |

| Component | HIKROBOT example | Role in this station |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | HIKROBOT smart camera or area-scan system | Capture the distinguishing features of the presented component. |
| Lighting | Controlled reflected or transmitted light | Preserve contrast across finish and orientation changes. |
| Optional reader | HIKROBOT DPM-capable reader selected by sample test | Read the existing mark where serial or batch identity is required. |
| Handling | Indexed tray or fixture and reject/hold route | Associate the result with the correct physical component. |
| Tool or software | What it does here |
|---|---|
| Expected identity | Obtain the selected part family and work order from approved production data. |
| Visible match | Check explicit differentiating features instead of only a broad similarity score. |
| Code match | Where used, validate syntax and compare the decoded identity with the expected record. |
| Exception handling | Quarantine unknown, conflicting or unreadable identities with a reason code. |
Agree the defect/feature list, acceptable variants, reference samples, failure response and excluded checks.
List every pair that could be confused and its distinguishing feature. Define who approves the master and which system supplies expected identity.
Define loading order, tray position and quarantine access. A result is valid only for its own part or pack cycle.
Bind the program and inspection limits to the authorised product revision; record who changes them.
Repeat the challenge set under the agreed production conditions, then check cleaning, restart, bypass and rework handling.
The optical test and integration survey define the scope before a rand budget is issued.
No numerical budget is assigned to this scope before optical feasibility and the handling/PLC requirements are defined. A shared camera model or similar product does not establish the cost of this complete station.
| Cost driver | What changes the scope | Information needed |
|---|---|---|
| Variant coverage | Number of visible distinguishing features and views | Variant matrix and real parts |
| Traceability | Code reading and production-system interface | Example identifiers and field definitions |
| Handling | Tray indexing, physical quarantine and rework | Material-flow diagram |
Compare the scope with the cost guide. The quotation states its price date, VAT treatment, installation, commissioning and exclusions.

Every station is accepted on your products, against numbers agreed in writing before the build. How we deliver →
Challenge each similar pair in both directions; include unknown variants.
Test wrong work order, unreadable mark, duplicate identity and disconnected data source.
Clear stale results, identify partly processed trays and require a controlled reinspection.
Record the challenge set, outcomes, recipe revision, inspection conditions and unresolved limits. Agree false-reject and missed-defect targets before building; no universal performance figure is assumed.
Describe the line, the products and the fault. We test on your good and faulty samples and reply with a feasibility note and a budget.
